Where protocol meets client: Choices in case conceptualization in EMDR

Description

EMDR is being successfully utilized to treat a broader range of big “T” and small “t” traumas. A day in the life of an EMDR therapist can involve working with a plethora of symptoms, necessitating frequent adjustments, while maintaining fidelity to protocol. Through a discussion of pre-screening, typical and atypical case scenarios, and the provision of a decision tree using appropriate resources and protocols, participants will learn a more systematic way to conceptualize their cases. Answers to frequently asked questions about the course of EMDR therapy and guidelines for keeping treatment moving forward will also be provided.
