Getting trainees to use EMDR
Many therapists who learn EMDR don't use it. Greenwald (2006) hypothesized that this is because: (a) a therapist not proficient in the trauma-informed treatment approach may never get the client to the point of readiness for EMDR; and (b) even when the client is ready, the therapist may be afraid of taking the plunge.
