Healing wounded memories worldwide: The promise of EMDR in taking trauma treatment to scale in humanitarian and development settings

Description

Given the heavy global burden of trauma and its far-reaching consequences for individuals and societies, why has not more been done about it? Recent innovations, growing awareness and existing health infrastructures open up new possibilities for scaling up trauma treatment worldwide. What policy process might bring trauma treatment higher on the world agenda, especially in situations of violent conflict and disasters? What role could EMDR and mental health professionals play? These are some of the questions the presentation will address.
