Epigenetics and trauma: An update

Description

The field of epigenetics is growing rapidly, and its relevance to PTSD and trauma survivors is becoming more evident. Trauma survivors focus on the enduring changes that result from their experiences, and the science of epigenetics provides a framework and language for understanding how experiences can result in long term effects that last for generations and possibly even persist unto the next generation. This session will provide the latest updates of intergenerational trauma effects as well as explore whether epigenetic alterations change in response to treatment.
