Eye therapy aids PTSD
“When you have tunnel vision, you’re always having to look around, to see what’s safe and what’s not, and that builds anxiety, which amplifies everything, putting you on hyper-alert,” Kaplan said. “What happens, with someone with PTSD, they’re saying, ‘I’ve got to forget this, make these images go away.’ But the more you try to make it go away, the more you focus on the picture that you want to forget, the worse it gets.” [Excerpt]
