A global collaboration enhancing community and personal resiliency through EMDR training and intervention

Description

A Global Collaboration Enhancing community and personal Resiliency through EMDR Training and Intervention – Carol R. Martin Since its inception more than 22 years ago, Trauma Recovery, EMDR Humanitarian Assistance Programs (Trauma Recovery/HAP), working with our volunteers and other like-minded people throughout the world, has directed its efforts to increase the capacity for effective treatment of psychological trauma in under-served communities anywhere in the world. During that time, we have worked in more than 30 countries throughout the world and collaborated with individuals and organizations in many more.

This presentation discusses our history, both internationally and domestically, and how this work is reflected in our currents programs. An overview of these programs is provided including discussion of a commitment to a development strategy that is culturally sensitive, financially sound, collaborative and maintains the highest standards of EMDR training and practice. A discussion of our challenges along the way and how we tried to deal with them. The final consideration how this knowledge might be useful and generalizable to other situations?
