L'EMDR - Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing - Au service de la thérapie systémique
The EMDR-Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing-in the service of systemic therapy
Description
EMDR – Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing – at the service of systemic therapy When there is trauma, talking therapy only is not sufficient. In this case it is necessary to focus on physiology and body reactions, in order to include them in the therapy process. EMDR is recognized not only as an efficient therapy for helping people suffering from PTSD, but also in order to restore the attachment dimension. Today EMDR appears as a well structured and precise protocol which can be used for different kinds of trauma and even more. This paper aims to present EMDR therapy, and a clinical case will illustrate its use in a couple therapy setting. How EMDR can be integrated in a systemic and solution focused psychotherapy will be discussed.
