Perspectives on consultation: The value of dissociation-focused EMDR therapy consultation

Description

Clinical consultation comes in many shapes, sizes, and formats. For the typical EMDR therapist, the two most recognized types of consultation are 1) the minimum ten hours required to earn a certificate of completion in EMDR therapy in their initial training and 2) the additional twenty hours of consultation needed to achieve EMDRIA Certification. However, beyond these achievement-focused forms of consultation, there is “specialization” consultation, in which a therapist seeks to deepen their knowledge in a particular area of practice.
